Masood Parvania, Ph.D.
I am currently an Assistant Professor with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at University of Utah.
Before joining University of Utah, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Arizona State University (2015), and University of California Davis (2014), affiliated with the Center for Trustworthy Cyber Infrastructure for the Power Grid (TCIPG).
In 2012-2013, I was a Research Associate in the Robert W. Galvin center for Electricity Innovation at Illinois Institute of Technology. I received my Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, under co-supervision of Prof. Mahmud Fotuhi-Firuzabad and Prof. Mohammad Shahidehpour.
My research focuses on developing mathematical models and optimization techniques for economic, secure, and environmentally-friendly operation of power and energy systems.
I am looking for tanlented and self-motivated PhD students. The applicants should possess a Master degree in Electrical Engineering, knowledge base in power systems operation, and strong background in mathemathical optimization methods. Interested students: please send your updated CV to email@example.com
